Supermodel Campbell put in her place

Temperamental supermodel Naomi Campbell was disciplined by Hollywood legend Douglas Fairbanks Jr after throwing a tantrum at a London celebrity party 10 years ago.

Fairbanks Jr lectured the catwalk queen after she screamed at a waiter who had brought her a drink with ice cubes instead of crushed ice - in room packed full of Hollywood stars trying to pay tribute to screen legend Ginger Rogers.

Stars in attendance included Michael Caine, Anthony Hopkins, Debbie Reynolds and Joan Collins.

A guest reveals: "He didn't know who she was and this frustrated Naomi. She had ordered a glass of water. On delivery of the water she threw it back at the waiter, claiming she preferred crushed ice and not cubed.

"He had been married to Joan Crawford and was used to crabbiness. But this was more than he could believe. He gave her a telling-off. The room was packed with Oscar winners, not mannequins."

Fairbanks Jr died in 2000 aged 90.
