Ford and Flockhart wow Venice film fans
Action hero Harrison Ford arrived with his actress girlfriend Calista Flockhart at the Venice premiere of her new horror movie Fragile tonight.
The pair have been a couple since 2002, when Ford shocked Hollywood by leaving his second wife.
Critics said they would never last and that the Indiana Jones star was going through a mid-life crisis.
But the couple showed the world they were still going strong on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival, as they both signed autographs for hordes of screaming fans.
Former Ally McBeal star Flockhart, who wore a flowing floor-length fuchsia dress, plays a nurse in Fragile, a ghost story set in a children’s hospital.
But she did not appear too pleased at a press conference when she was asked why some of the audience laughed at the end of the movie during a screening of the horror film.
“I didn’t expect people to be laughing at the end,” she said.
Flockhart, 40, said she had “laid to rest,” her Ally McBeal role, adding: “I’ve certainly done a lot since then.
“Whether it haunts me from the outsider’s point of view, that’s anyone’s point of view,” she said.
Ford, 63, has been helping to bring up Flockhart’s three-year-old adopted son Liam and the pair were recently snapped holidaying on a canal boat in Wales.
The couple have been in Venice before – two years ago for Ford’s film K19: The Widowmaker.
