Lynott to be honoured

Thin Lizzy fans will pay tribute to late rocker Phil Lynott next Friday when they unveil a statue they funded in his favourite street in Dublin, Ireland.

The statue will be situated in the famous Grafton Street and on Saturday and a huge concert at historic Irish venue The Point will see fans from all over the world honour Lynott, who died in 1986.

Guitar giant Gary Moory heads the line-up and Wheatus will also perform.

Philomena Lynott, the rocker's mother, insists Phil would be thrilled with the fitting tribute: "Grafton Street is where Phil and his friends hung out and made plans to conquer the world."
