Aniston's former sweetheart cancels memorabilia auction

One of Jennifer Aniston’s teenage sweethearts called off an auction of memorabilia from the Friends star after being told she was not happy about the sale.

Michael Baroni, a California lawyer who claims he and Aniston had a summer romance in 1984, had intended to sell romantic trinkets including a makeshift birthday card she wrote on a piece of toilet paper.

But on receiving word from one of the actress’s representatives that she did not want the sale conducted, Baroni said he had chosen to cancel the event.

“I have nothing but fond memories of Jennifer as a friend and only wish her well,” he said.

The goods included a piece of paper with Aniston’s name and phone number written in lipstick and a photo of the pair hugging when they first met.

According to Baroni, their relationship began when he was 16 and she was 15. He claims they remained friends until they lost contact in 1991.
