British actress Kate Beckinsale wants to play Wonder Woman in the upcoming movie adaptation of the classic 1970s TV series.

The Van Helsing beauty has been practising - she dressed up as the superheroine last year for Hallowe'en - and she hopes Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon will cast her in the prestigious role.
