Stars look to clean up at soap awards
Coronation Street’s Kate Ford and Emmerdale’s Patsy Kensit will battle it out for the best bitch prize at this year’s Inside Soap Awards.
Ford (Tracy Barlow) and Kensit (Sadie King) face competition from EastEnders actress Tracy-Ann Oberman, who plays Queen Vic landlady Chrissie Watts.
Nominations for the awards were announced today.
The girls do not get all the glory – there is also a category for best bad boy.
Leslie Grantham (Den Watts) and Billy Murray (Johnny Allen) from EastEnders are up against Coronation Street’s Bill Ward (Charlie Stubbs) and Emmerdale’s Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle).
In the sexiest female stakes, there are nominations for Corrie’s Samia Ghadie (Maria Sutherland) and Tina O’Brien (Sarah Louise Platt) but none for Nikki Sanderson, who plays wannabe weathergirl Candice Stowe.
EastEnders’ Michelle Ryan (Zoe Slater) and Emmerdale’s Katie Sugden (Sammy Winward) are also in the running.
The winners are decided by public vote and will be announced at a ceremony on September 26.
The full list of nominees is in this week’s edition of Inside Soap magazine.
