Their national team plays it quite well, the Premier League in England is packed with Stateside stars, kids love the game, it’s increasingly featured in movies and on TV; but it still remains a mystery to many Americans.

It is, of course, what they refer to as soccer, so as not confuse it with football, which we refer to as rugby for hulking, mindless jocks.

And here’s a sporting comedy, of dubious quality, about a father-son, Duvall and Ferrell, rivalry involving their junior league teams.

It has its moments, but most of them seem to be confined to half-time when you will be out fetching your pork pies.

In the great game of life we’re all 5-0 down at half-time, and the referee’s on the other side!
