Michael Jackson wants to become a Berliner, according to German newspaper reports.

The singer’s father Joe Jackson has revealed that his son is in love with the city.

Bild newspaper claims Jackson Snr is already looking for a house and has been eyeing a mansion in the Potsdam area.

Jackson family advisor Shawn Andrews told another German publication, Berliner Morgenpost, that the singer was keen to move to Europe.

“He is a fan of Germany and has fallen in love with the city of Berlin,” he is quoted as saying. “The Jackson family also really likes the city of Potsdam.”

The recently acquitted King of Pop sparked an outcry during a previous visit to the German capital when he dangled his baby son, Prince Michael II, over a hotel balcony.

The singer has ended days of speculation by confirming that he will not be attending his father’s 76th birthday party at a Berlin hotel tomorrow night.

A statement issued on his website said Jackson extended his “sincere regrets that he will be unable to attend the Victory/Birthday Party, hosted by his father, Joseph Jackson.

“However, Michael would like to wish his father a very heartfelt ’Happy Birthday,’ and he hopes that everyone attending the event has a truly wonderful time,” it said.

Despite his decision, hundreds of fans have been invited to the party to thank them for their support during Jackson’s trial.

The frail 46-year-old has not been seen in public since he was acquitted of child molestation last month.
