Hatcher expected to play Gabrielle
Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher was thrilled when producers offered her the part of Susan Mayer because she was worried her sexy image would typecast her as ex-model Gabrielle Solis.
The former Bond girl thought she had more in common with Eva Longoria's role as steamy Gabrielle or Felicity Huffman's harassed mum Lynette Scavo, but was excited when they gave her the bigger challenge of insecure Susan.
