Based on the Oscar Wilde stage classic and enhanced by the performances of the always-excellent Hunt and the sexy Johansson this tale of sex, scandal, betrayal and wit - scheming femme fatale sets out to steal husband of young wife - comes across as a compelling screen drama realised in style by Barker.

Hunt really is a fine - and awards festooned - actress and Johansson is developing into a star of the first order.
