Cork director's film wins awards in Europe
Cork writer/director Margaret Corkery's film Killing the Afternoon has won Best short film 'Gold Moon of Valencia' at Cinema Jove in Spain.
In the same weekend it also won The Jury Prize for Best short film at The Aye Aye Film Festival in France.
The film was shot on a remote beach in Cork and stars some talented locals Gary Horgan, John Harrison, Ciara Lynch and Andrea Deady.
The film received its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival this year.
It is due to screen for the first time in Ireland at The Galway Film Fleadh and it will receive it's first screening in Britain at the Edinburgh Film Festival in August.
