The Men Behaving Badly star urged the UK government to introduce measures as she launched her own product against hospital infections.

Speaking at a London press conference, Miss Ash 45, who contracted the MSSA bug (Methicillin Sensitive Staphylococcus aureus) in hospital last year, said she was “annoyed” that the public had been forced to act by themselves.

Miss Ash, who is married to ex-Leeds United footballer Lee Chapman, contracted MSSA during a visit to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital last year.
