BCC rejects complaints about TV3’s Will and Grace

The Broadcasting Complaints Commission has rejected two complaints about sexual innuendo in the TV3 sitcom Will and Grace.

Two viewers had complained about the sexual content of the programme, which airs at 6pm.

However, TV3 argued that DVD compilations of the series carried a classification of Universal or PG in Britain and was generally acceptable viewing.

The BCC agreed, saying the show was unlikely to cause widespread offence.

Meanwhile, the commission has also upheld a complaint about a radio advertisement for the Irish Sun promising a free €3 bet during the Cheltenham Festival.

The BCC said the ad was the misleading as it did not make it clear that, in order to avail of the bet, readers had to buy the newspaper on each day of the festival.
