Gallagher explains Live 8 snub
Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher has hit back after the band were slammed for snubbing Live 8.
The Wonderwall stars were already booked to perform in their home town at the City Of Manchester Stadium on July 2, when the high profile charity extravaganza was announced.
Gallagher says: "If it was possible, it would be nice to take part."
But the outspoken musician is offended that stars are expected to rally round at Bob Geldof's command.
"It's the general thing that rock stars should be doing something to f**king sort this out. And it's like, 'Well, all right, that's what U2's Bono and Coldplay's Chris Martin are for.'
"I don't like the way that somebody suddenly decides that all the bands in England are going to f**kin' play and everybody jumps to attention."
