Live 8 gigs planned for Tokyo, Toronto, Jo'burg

Bob Geldof has revealed that further concerts are to take place in Tokyo, Toronto and Johannesburg next month as part of the Live 8 extravaganza.

Speaking as he received an honorary degree from University College Dublin today, Geldof said details of the gigs would be announced tomorrow.

Concerts have already been announced for London, Paris, Berlin, Rome and Philadelphia as part of Live 8, which is being arranged to raise awareness of anti-poverty campaigns.

The organisers also want those in attendance to pressure the G8 group of wealthy nations to do more to address poverty in the developing world, particularly Africa.
