Halliwell mistaken for Minogue at album signing

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell was the victim of an embarrassing gaffe when she was twice introduced as Kylie Minogue at a recent personal appearance.

The Desire singer was booked to sign copies of her latest album Passion in supermarket Asda in her childhood town of Watford, England on Monday.

But the announcer made a faux-pas by repeatedly confusing the singer with Australian pop babe Minogue.

She declared: "Kylie will be signing in ten minutes" and "Kylie is now in the store".

An Asda spokesman says: "It appears our greeter called Geri 'Kylie', but she quickly corrected it."
