White slams accusations wedding was publicity stunt
White Stripes rocker Jack White has slammed reports his marriage to model Karen Elson last Tuesday was a publicity stunt to promote yesterday's release of his new album, Get Behind Me Satan.
The Seven Nation Army singer followed in the footsteps of his ex-girlfriend Renee Zellweger - who secretly wed country singer Kenny Chesney last month - by exchanging vows with Elson in a shock
wedding in Brazil, after a whirlwind five-week romance.
White's bandmate and reported ex-wife Meg White served as bridesmaid and the duo's manager Ian Montone took on best man duties as the couple were wed by a shaman.
But White's baffled by claims the wedding was fake, insisting: "It's definitely for real. We knew we were in love probably from the moment we met each other. Whether it was going to happen a year from now or three days later, it was just going to happen."
Zellweger split from White in September after a two-year relationship.
