The cast of the cult TV comedy series switch for the first time to the big screen, only to discover that not too many such moves actually work. This one certainly doesn't.

The plot - such as it is - concerns the gang from the TV series deciding to make a film; which includes time travel and the usual bizarre and often repulsive characters who people the ghastly little town of Royston Vasey.

The problem is that the TV series, now running for six years, is so off-centre and quirky and so made for the small screen that it cannot be translated successfully to the cinema.
