Stewart laughs off pregnancy rumours

Veteran rocker Rod Stewart has laughed off reports he is set to become a father for the seventh time, insisting his fiancee Penny Lancaster isn't pregnant - yet.

The Maggie May star and his lover of five years were reported to be expecting their first child together by British newspaper Daily Mirror.

The paper quoted Stewart's manager Arnold Steifel as saying: "that will be a dream come true for them if they start a family".

However Moira Bellas, the rocker's music press relations officer, explains: "The words were taken out of the Daily Record as rumours have been doing the rounds for a few weeks, but what he actually said was that if the rumours were true it would be fabulous news, but as far as he knew it wasn't true at this stage."

Photographer-turned-model Lancaster's publicist Nick Young adds: "These stories have been doing the rounds for six months and I haven't been told anything new, and I think if it had been true she would be showing the signs by now."

Stewart has six children already from previous relationships and marriages, including Sarah; 41, Kimberly; 25, Sean; 24, Ruby; 17, Renee; 12 and Liam; 10.
