Millions

Director: Danny Boyle

Cast: Alexander Nathan Etel, Lewis Owen McGibbon, James Nesbitt, Daisy Donovan

Cert: 12

Not what we've come to expect from the Trainspotting Boyle, but Millions is a completely charming, feel-good gem of good-natured moviemaking.

The story concerns two small boys - brilliantly played by Etel and McGibbon - who find the loot from a robbery. The problem is that they have just a week to do something with it since it's Sterling and the United Kingdom is about to go euro.

The plot involves one of the lads wanting to spend it on goodies and the other wanting to spend it on doing good.

Nesbitt is excellent as the boys' widower father and Boyle handles the storyline with a minimum of sentimentality.

Star Rating: 4/5
