Street star due in court

Coronation Street actor Simon Gregson was appearing in court today charged with drink driving.

The soap star, who plays taxi firm boss Steve McDonald, was stopped by traffic police at about 12.15am on May 15 while driving his Jaguar through Prestbury, Cheshire earlier this month.

Gregson, 31, whose real name is Simon Gregory, was later charged and bailed to appear at Macclesfield Magistrates Court later today.

A Coronation Street spokeswoman confirmed he had informed show bosses of his arrest.
