Liman: 'Pitt and Jolie chemistry was immediate'
Alleged couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had immediate chemistry from the first day of the filming on Mr and Mrs Smith, according to the movie's director Doug Liman.
The Bourne Identity film-maker cast Jolie at the last minute to replace Pitt's original co-star Nicole Kidman, who was called back to film additional scenes for The Stepford Wives, and so the pair only met for the first time on the set.
Liman tells Time magazine: "It was going to be rolling the dice.
"I decided I would take advantage of the awkwardness. They don't really know each other. They're not comfortable. Just sit them down, day one, first thing in the morning, and roll the camera.
"You can see right then and there, they had great chemistry."
Pitt and Jolie have repeatedly denied reports they are dating, following the heart-throb's high-profile split from wife Jennifer Aniston in January, but have been photographed holidaying in Kenya together earlier this month.
