Schwimmer, 38, is currently preparing to appear at London's Gielgud Theatre in Neil LaBute's play Some Girl(s), but he is already resigned to the fact many unimaginative audience members will still see him as the nerdy palaeontologist from the long-running comedy, no matter how different his new role is.
