Suvari files for divorce from husband

Actress Mena Suvari has filed for divorce from cinematographer Robert Brinkmann after five years of marriage.

In a statement released by Suvari's publicist, the actress cites irreconcilable differences as the basis for her divorce petition, which was filed on Tuesday.

Brinkmann, aged 43, and Suvari, aged 26, eloped in March 2000 just after the actress had turned 21. The couple met while working on the cheerleading comedy Sugar & Spice.

They recently collaborated on the upcoming film Standing Still.
