Sting is 'a tramp'

Sting's reputation as a stylish rocker has been shot to pieces by his best friend who claims "most of the time he looks like a tramp".

The former Police frontman is often snapped attending events with his wife Trudy Styler wearing carefully assembled outfits - and he was famously photographed at their wedding wearing a Versace suit and waistcoat leading Styler on a horse.

But the singer's longterm friend Jim Berryman reveals Sting is more comfortable wearing the same scruffy cream sweater.

In his book, Sting and I, Berryman - who has been friends with the star since their schooldays in northeast England, says: "Most of the time Sting looks like a tramp. He's got a cream woolly jumper he's had about 24 years and I've seen him wear it a hundred times."
