Stephen Fry has accused science-fiction writers of taking themselves too seriously.

The British actor signed up to star in the movie version of Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy despite claiming a passionate dislike of all things sci-fi - a decision he justifies by claiming the classic book's author Douglas Adams wasn't interested in the genre either.
