Short animation hits the mark
Short animations are not usually my cup of tea, but I’ll make an exception for the Oscar winner Harvie Krumpet (Metrodome).
Adam Elliot’s marvellous film is brilliantly entertaining, as Harvie, blessed with bad luck, struggles through some extraordinary disasters and keeps on smiling to land the woman of his dreams.
Elliot is a consummate artist, and you can catch all of his other short works on this disc, such as Uncle, Cousin, Brother and Human Behavioural Case Studies, Part One, all equally enjoyable.
Special features include audio commentaries by Elliot, a storyboard featurette, character model shots and a hidden Easter egg which I won’t spoil.
