Jamie denies rumours of marriage problems
Jamie Oliver today hit out again at rumours that his marriage is in trouble.
The celebrity chef said he and wife Jools were still “really happy” together despite their differences.
It follows the Channel 4 series Jamie’s School Dinners which included scenes of the couple bickering.
But Jamie said today: “I just can’t understand why people are obsessed with the idea that we’re splitting up. We’re not, we’re really happy with each other.
“We argue just like everyone else, we have days when the kids are throwing wobblies or get upset over little things, but we love each other to bits.”
Jamie, 29, who is currently filming a new television series in Sicily, said in a Daily Mail interview: “We are different. Jools is a real homebody who likes her routines with the children and while I like to be a homebird, too, I also need to get out there and do something I feel passionate about.
“I am much more of a restless spirit and Jools understands that, even if it occasionally drives her mad.”
The television chef said he did not regret exposing his family to the media spotlight.
“Of course, Jools sometimes says she’s had enough of it all, but we knew what we were getting into when I decided to do that first television series. We have no problem with the media spotlight, what we can’t stand are the lies,” he said.
