Huckabees disappoints
LAUDED as an original comedy, I Heart Huckabees (Fox) should have been a bundle of laughs, but try as I might it left me completely underwhelmed.
There’s nothing worse than sitting waiting for the humour to arrive and finding there’s nothing at all.
Yet the film boasts an impressive cast, with Jason Schwartzman as Albert Markovski, an environmental activist who enlists existential detectives Dustin Hoffman and Lily Tomlin to spy on him following a series of unexplained meetings with a stranger.
Directed by David O Rusell (Flirting With Disaster is one of his), it tries too hard. Extras include deleted scenes, audio commentaries, outtakes, documentary, etc.
