Alanis carries hippie reminders

Hippie rocker Alanis Morissette always carries crystals and talismans with her because they remind her to be a better person.

The rocker is a big believer in correctly channelling personal energy and uses new age trinkets to help her make big decisions.

She says: "I use cards and many crystals. Many times I'll carry them with me. A lot of times I have talismans that kind of remind me of things that I may be forgetting throughout the day, whether it's to be present or to breathe or to not forget who it is that I am and why it is that I'm here."

The singer also burns a lot of sage and lets the fragrant smoke cleanse her.
