Stallone: Brigitte saved my life

Hollywood hardman Sylvester Stallone dodged death when former love Brigitte Nielsen rushed him to hospital with seconds to spare.

Fears were sparked when the action star turned grey after a fight scene with Dolph Lundgren during filming for Rocky IV in 1984 - the Swede had inadvertently caused genuine damage with his punches.

Stallone recalls: "I told (Nielsen) I was just exhausted but she said: 'No, now you're turning blue.'

"She talked me into going into hospital. She saved my life, though I've never said it to anyone.
