Original flight was miles better

A so-so re-make of the much better l965 film, though this is impressive enough, technically, given present-day cinema developments.

The story involves the survivors of a 'plane crash in the Gobi Desert. They are stranded and seemingly doomed until one of them claims he can build a 'plane if they follow his instructions.

There is much obvious tension among the group and a full range of emotional baggage ... unfortunately it ranges from A to B. Heroes and villains abound, fear and loathing, bravery and cowardice ... a lot of unnecessary hot air based on a weak script.
