A man was shot in the leg yesterday in the lobby of a New York radio station while rapper 50 Cent was making an on-air appearance.

The 24-year-old man - who was not identified - was a member of the star's entourage.

Apparently the shooting occurred shortly after the rapper said he was dropping his protégé The Game from his hip-hop clique G-Unit.

50 Cent was at WQHT-FM to promote the release of his new album 'The Massacre'.

Officials said the injured man was taken to hospital, where he was reported to be in a stable condition.

No arrests have been made.

50 Cent was not hurt in the incident and no comment has been made by the rapper or his label, Interscope Records.
