Actress Melanie Griffith was using a cane to get around the Oscars with a broken foot.

She explained she hurt herself a year or so ago when she kicked the dressing room door when she was starring in Cabaret on Broadway.

Husband Antonio Banderas explained she only had an operation three weeks ago after suffering the pain for months.

“She’s stubborn,” he added.

Griffith was at the ceremony to watch her husband and Carlos Santana perform the Oscar-winning song Al Otro Lado Del Rio from the film The Motorcycle Diaries.
