Sheen gives the shirt off his back

Actor Charlie Sheen is reluctant to give his father Martin expensive clothes as gifts because he just gives them away to the homeless.

The star has noticed that no matter how much he attempts to make good-looking additions to his dad's wardrobe, The West Wing star discards them without a second thought.

Charlie says: "I sort of describe (my dad's) style as that of an assassin…he sort of dresses like a guy that just wants to blend in. You can't pick an assassin out of a crowd.

"It's funny, because you'll give him something for Christmas or his birthday, a nice cashmere overcoat and he'll love it… and then you don't see it for a year.

"Then you get taken down to some function or some holiday at a homeless shelter and there's a guy wearing that jacket."
