Foo Fighters enlist Norah Jones

The Foo Fighters have shocked their fans by recruiting jazz star Norah Jones to sing on their upcoming double album.

The Dave Grohl-fronted band intend to demonstrate the full range of their talents on the two-disc offering - one will be filled with soft, acoustic compositions, while the other will mirror the heavy sounds that launched them to fame.

And the Monkey Wrench quartet deemed Jones the ideal contributor to their easy listening set.

Meanwhile, legendary Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones' help was enlisted for the rock disc.

Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett said: "John Paul Jones was so down-to-earth and cool, it was incredible.

"We've recorded a lot of music for this record, more than 40 songs or versions of songs. That'll get narrowed down to about half of that number for the final track list."
