Desperate Housewives star Nicolette Sheridan consciously dropped her British accent when she moved to America as a child to avoid being bullied.

The 41-year-old, who was shocked by the taunts she endured after starting school in the US, has a different problem now - she's teased by her British friends about her American accent.
