The story concerns a janitor (Unel) whose life is a shambles of drugs and drink. He is packed off to a clinic to get himself together and there he meets a scheming young woman (Kekilli) who sees in him the opportunity for remaining in Germany.

Akin fashions from this a film rich in character and observation and is served to perfection by his excellent cast.
