Nothing in life is ever easy; like taking a simple drive.

We have had some excellent ‘road’ films in the past, but this dismally unfunny one knocks the genre back to the horse-and-buggy era.

Ice Cube, playing the sort of irresponsible jerk no right-thinking woman would want to know, finds romance with an attractive divorcee, single mum Long, and to impress her he agrees to drive her two - extremely uncharming - kids to Canada.

Things - you guessed it - go horribly wrong. What goes wrong from the outset is that the two obnoxious kids aren’t left on a lonely road at the mercy of prowling hungry animals. Now that would have raised a loud cheer!

It’s not in the least amusing, it’s relentlessly annoying; was this journey really necessary?
