Spears fails to turn up for radio interview

Britney Spears has angered bosses at a British radio station after pulling out of a scheduled appearance "without any real reason".

Superstar rival Jennifer Lopez has stepped in at the last minute to co-host BBC Radio 1's morning show with DJ Jo Wiley after the blonde superstar cancelled the interview, scheduled for today.

Radio 1 spokesperson Nicholas Caley says: "She (Spears) cancelled without any real reason.

"We don't have written contracts but it was agreed between the programme's producer and her record plugger.

"It was in place but she pulled out."

David Frossman from Spears' British record label BMG explains, "The diaries didn't work out.

"She is coming to Britain but later in the spring."
