Hollywood starlet Gwyneth Paltrow has put her luxurious New York home up for sale, indicating she intends to remain rooted in west London with her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
The four-storey townhouse in Manhattan’s trendy Greenwich Village has gone on the market for $7.85m (€6m), according to reports.
Paltrow, 32, and Martin have spent most of their time in London since daughter Apple was born nine months ago.
The couple bought fellow actress Kate Winslet’s home in the exclusive Belsize Park last July for a reported $4.5m (3.5m).
The Oscar-winning actress likes London life so much she’s selling her New York red brick mansion.
The house was bought in 1998 for $1.6m (€1.2m) and features four bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, two planted gardens and several wood-burning fireplaces, according to the New York Post.
It includes a state-of-the-art security system, surveillance cameras and batter-proof doors that were reportedly installed by the safety-conscious actress.
Neighbours include Liv Tyler and Sarah Jessica Parker who live just a stone’s throw away.
Sources told the newspaper that 32-year-old Paltrow was looking for a safer and more manageable part-time home in an apartment building.
The blonde beauty has taken a break from Hollywood to look after her daughter but is due back in front of the camera next month to begin filming Running with Scissors in Los Angeles.
She will star in one movie this year, Proof, based on David Auburn’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play.
