Friends star leaves hospital after illness

Friends star Matthew Perry is back home after a brief hospital stay in Los Angeles following a bad reaction to prescription medicine.

The 35-year-old actor was taken to hospital last week and stayed overnight for doctor-ordered observation, said his publicist, Lisa Kasteler. She did not provide any other details.

“He’s home. He’s fine,” she said.

Perry has previously been treated for alcohol and prescription drug addiction.

Last week’s stay in hospital was unrelated to those incidents, Kasteler said.
