Kate Moss tops 'best dressed' list

Supermodel Kate Moss has been named the world’s best dressed woman – just ahead of fashion rival Sienna Miller.

Kate, aged 31, retained her place at the top of Glamour magazine’s annual best dressed list, while Sienna, aged 23, had to settle for second place.

Sienna, fiancee of actor Jude Law, shot 47 places up the list after a year which saw her hailed as a fashion icon and even credited as the inspiration for Marks and Spencer’s new collection.

The panel of celebrities and industry experts, who pored over the 8,000 nominations sent in by the magazine’s readers, were torn between the two style queens.

There was some consolation for Sienna – she and Jude were voted most stylish couple and she was also voted the best dressed for day wear.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Sex and the City star and now the face of high street chain Gap, was third in the poll.

Victoria Beckham slipped down a place from third to fourth – she has kept a relatively low profile during her latest pregnancy.

Jennifer Aniston’s “sexy and sophisticated” look earned her fifth place in the list, followed by Nicole Kidman, Gwen Stefani and Gwyneth Paltrow.

US teen star Mary-Kate Olsen – admitted to a clinic which treats eating disorders – came ninth in the list. Her healthier-looking twin, Ashley, did not make the top 50.

Tenth place went to Spider-Man star Kirsten Dunst, praised for looking “individual, quirky and cool”.

New entries in the top 50 include Kate Beckinsale, The OC star Mischa Barton, Kate Winslet, Natalie Portman and Paris Hilton.

Liz Hurley, who was 12th on the list last year, now languishes in 42nd place.

Glamour also named the five worst dressed celebrities in the world.

Jordan was top of the list, followed by Jodie Marsh, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.

The March edition of Glamour is on sale on February 10.
