Irish music label Rubyworks has announced its first signing of 2005 in the shape of Irish jazz and bluesman Nigel Mooney.

Nigel Mooney has been a fixture on the Irish live scene for almost two decades. This is his first LP.

The album entitled "All My Love's In Vain" comprises seven Mooney-penned original compositions and two choice covers from Robert Johnson. It will be released by Rubyworks later in the spring.

Niall Muckian of Rubyworks says: 'We are delighted to welcome Nigel Mooney to the label. He has made an outstanding record full of warmth, soul and intuition."

The first phase of album promotion takes place with shows at:

18th February : Ormonde Hotel, Kilkenny

19th February : An Cruiscin Lan, Cork

20th February : Kavanagh House, Enniscorthy

25th February : TheForum, Waterford

26th February : Crawdaddy, Dublin

27th February : Jazz Café, London, with Rodrigo y Gabriela

More dates are to be announced around the release of the album. A single will be released to radio at the same time.
