The follow-up to Meet the Parents and merely more of the same.

The story concerns that awful moment when you have to introduce your parents to those of the one you love; here, having endured meeting her parents in the original film, Stiller has to repeat the humiliating experience of introducing Polo’s nerve-shredding mom and pop (De Niro and Danner) to his equally unconventional parents (Hoffman and Streisand).

The problem is that, while some of the gags are enjoyable, there is nothing original to this repeat; Stiller is still reduced to a state of ineptness, his parents are way off-beat and it’s all as before.

The star-studded cast - and it’s good to see Streisand back on screen - has not been helped by such a poorly-written screenplay.
