Irish talent tops Christmas sales charts
The work of Irish artists proved the most popular buys during the Christmas period, music retailer Golden Discs said today.
For the second year in a row, an Irish artist held the No. 1 spot in the Christmas DVD best sellers - the Pat Shortt-inspired Killinascully was the clear chart topper.
Other Irish DVDs with good sales were Tommy Tiernan, Brendan O’Carroll and Halls Pictorial Weekly, Golden Discs said today.
U2’s How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb album held pole position from the date of release and will be the top-selling album for the year 2004.
"Excellent" chart placings were also achieved by Paddy Casey, Gift Grub and Westlife, Golden Discs said.
