Rowling gives birth to girl

Harry Potter author JK Rowling has given birth to her third child, an-unnamed girl.

Rowling and her husband Dr Neil Murray are "thrilled" by the birth - a little sister for 22-month-old David and 11-year-old Jessica, Rowling's daughter with first husband Jorge Arantes.

During a chat with fans on her website last year, the British author - who recently finished the sixth Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - said she had always wanted three children and "could not be happier".
