Mickey Rooney in ad controversy

A cold remedy commercial starring movie veteran Mickey Rooney has been axed from next month's Super Bowl coverage over fears it will offend viewers.

Bosses at TV network Fox fear the Airborne commercial, in which 84-year- old Rooney drops his towel in a sauna - to reveal his backside, will be this year's shocker.

And they fear fines like those fired at CBS after the Janet Jackson incident last year if they allow the ad to air.

A shocked Rooney says: "There is nothing sensual about the brief exposure of my backside."
