Manic Street Preachers, Badly Drawn Boy, Snow Patrol and Embrace have joined the line-up for the forthcoming Live Aid-style extravaganza in Britain, which aims to raise millions for the Asia tsunami victims.

The rock acts will join Eric Clapton and Feeder for the January 22 event at Cardiff, Wales' Millennium Stadium, delighting organisers who are frantically trying to secure artists in limited time.

Stadium manager Paul Sergeant says: "We had a fantastic response over the weekend, with the ticket sales reaching 45,000 by tea time on Sunday - it's an incredible achievement.

"We are over the moon. We have a good line-up, but this shows that people want to come together to pay their respects and mark the tsunami disaster."
