No Christmas cheer as Den buys Vic

Dirty Den brawls with Alfie Moon after telling him to leave the Queen Vic - because he’s the new owner.

Dirty Den brawls with Alfie Moon after telling him to leave the Queen Vic - because he’s the new owner.

Den (Leslie Grantham) has purchased the pub as part of the on-going feud between the warring Mitchells and Watts.

He has bought the Vic from a desperate Sam (Kim Medcalf) at a bargain basement price.

She needs the money to send to her brother Phil (Steve McFadden), who is on the run.

But now Den tells landlord Alfie (Shane Richie) that he has to leave, and take Nana Moon and his brother Spencer with him.

Alfie erupts in fury at Den, and the two have to be torn apart by the likes of Den’s wife Chrissie.

The scene brings back memories of 1986, when Den served divorce papers on wife Angie in the Queen Vic.

This year there’s a family row as Den, Chrissie, Sharon, Dennis, Vicki and Zoe settle down to Christmas dinner together.

The scene is broadcast on RTE1 and BBC1 on Friday.
